Committee Members

Mary Voshell

Mary has been active with the Lake Forest Community Foundation since its inception. Through her children’s educational careers, she has been involved in PTA’s and the high school athletic association, serving in board positions. She has continued her involvement in the Foundation to foster the importance of parents and the community as partners with the school district to ensure all children receive a quality education and a strong foundation in preparation for their future beyond school. Mary is a member of the Friends of Killens Pond and a lifetime member of the Delaware Recreation and Parks Association. She and her husband George have two grown children who graduated from Lake Forest. She currently lives with George in Viola, Delaware. Mary is the current Chair for the Foundation.

Debbi Cadwallader

Debbi has been active with the Lake Forest Community Education Foundation for the past 14 years. Her family moved to DE in 2003 seeking a better education experience for her two daughters. Debbi is a firm believer that education is the key to success. She served on the boards of the DE State Parent Advisory Council, LF PAC, PTO, Kent County Association of Realtors and DE Association of Realtors, as well as a Trustee for her church, Felton-Viola United Methodist Church. Debbi is the current Treasurer for the Foundation.

Anita Hart

Anita of Frederica has been active with the Lake Forest Community Education Foundation for the past 15 years. She came to Delaware 38 years ago when her husband joined the USAF. Anita has a long history in our education system. She was a teacher, Literacy Coach, Assistant Principal, and Principal in the Lake Forest School District for 29 years. She has served on numerous boards, education committees, and charitable organizations. During her time as an educator, she developed many new initiatives that enabled her school to become a Nationally Recognized Title One School. She presented professional development to teachers and administrators in Delaware and Maryland. Presently, Anita is retired but continues to keep her heart in education by working part-time in the Polytech School District and is an active member of her church and local community.

Robin Fleming

Robin is the Operations Administrator for Chick’s Saddlery, a family owned and operated business located in Harrington, Delaware since 1975. Robin grew up in northern New Jersey and relocated to Delaware in 1993, where the community felt different to her. So different that she immediately got involved. She credits her mother in law, Linda Chick, for introducing her to the world of philanthropy and nonprofits. Over the past 25 years, Robin has helped organize events for several of the local school districts, school clubs, youth sports teams, equine related groups, Milford Boys and Girls Club, and the Lake Forest Community Education Foundation. She and her husband, Bob enjoy the outdoors, sporting events, traveling, and most importantly spending time with their daughters, Jessica, and Lauren. Robin is the Current Events Coordinator for the Foundation.

Donna Sharp

Donna Sharp resides in Felton and is a 1981 graduate from Milford High School. In 1985, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a Journalism concentration from the University of Delaware. Donna has served the State of Delaware for 33 years as a communication and planning professional. Donna was actively involved in her children’s activities throughout their education. Currently, she works for the Division of Public Health's Office of Communications. She and her husband Phil have three grown children who attended Lake Forest schools. Donna is the current Communications Liaison for the Foundation.

Ronda Swenson

Ronda Swenson is the newest member of the LFCEF, joining in February 2020. Ronda, a former high school mathematics teacher, moved to Felton in 2003 with her husband and two children. She quickly became involved with the Lake Forest and Delaware State Parent Advisory Committees and, in early 2008, she was appointed to the Lake Forest Board of Education. She served on the Board for over 11 years, representing the District in a variety of state and local committees and chose to step away from that position in June 2019. Ronda has always been an advocate for public education and her community and is looking forward to continuing to serve Lake Forest in her new role.

Marie Cunningham

Marie Cunningham has lived in the Lake Forest School District for thirty-five years and is the mother of two Lake Forest graduates.
Education, learning, and literacy are lifelong interests and passions of Marie’s. She was a special education teacher, and a parent educator and early childhood educator with Parents As Teachers and Even Start. Marie was a member of the parent-teacher organization in each school her children attended and served as president or vice president in these organizations throughout her children’s school years.
Lake Forest South Elementary School was the first school in the Lake Forest School District to host Parent Teacher Action Group (PTAG) sponsored Family Math Nights and Family Literacy Nights while Marie served as president of the Lake Forest South Elementary PTAG.
Marie severed on many Lake Forest School District committees and served ten years on the Lake Forest School District Board of Education.
Marie was a founding member of the Citizens for Lake Forest, whose aim was to bridge communication among our District’s communities and the District. The Citizens for Lake Forest eventually became the Lake Forest Community Education Foundation, of which Marie was a founding member and has served on its board ever since with the exception of a several years.
Once off the school board, Marie facilitated a partnership between the Friends of the Harrington Public Library and the Lake Forest School District to bring the first Dolly Parton Imagination Library program to Delaware. All children, aged birth to five, who lived in the Lake Forest School District, were eligible to receive a book in the mail every month until the child turned five at no cost to the family. This program was picked up by the State of Delaware two years ago and now serves all children, birth to five, throughout the entire state of Delaware.
Marie currently works at Delaware Division of Libraries and is the Regional Librarian of Delaware Library Access Services (DLAS), formerly known as the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. Marie also currently serves on the Kent County Levy Court Library Advisory Committee, the Harrington City Council Library Board of Trustees, the Harrington Board of Adjustments, and is a member of the Friends of the Harrington Public Library.
