We are saddened at the loss of one of the Foundation's founding members, Linda Chick.  As a founding member, Linda was instrumental in engaging the community in the public educational system.  Gathering others with similar interests, she launched the Foundation for the community to support and promote innovative projects for Lake Forest School District community and students.   Linda’s passion for a quality public education for all students was no less than what she wanted for her own children and grandchildren: a public education that included interactive and inspirational educational experiences within and outside the classroom.  Throughout her life, Linda spearheaded initiatives to improve the lives of children, women, and families throughout Delaware as well as the Lake Forest School District.

The Lake Forest Community Education Foundation is a grassroots organization that serves students and adults in Delaware's Lake Forest School District. Our foundation values education in the classroom to prepare students for a future beyond graduation. We also support community education opportunities including the arts, athletics, and extra-curricular educational activities. Through partnerships with the school district, community leaders, and businesses, we address educational needs in our beloved rural area.

Students

Our students are vital to the prosperity of our community, our state and the nation.  By providing resources to compliment and augment their educational experiences, we’re committed to their educational and personal growth into adulthood.

Educators

Great teachers are the core of a world-class education; LFCEF is committed to providing Lake Forest educators with grants to promote innovative classroom projects, advance student learning, enhance the educational experience and encourage growth and opportunities for all.

Partners

The Foundation invites educational institutions, businesses, and other non-profit organizations to support the expansion of educational opportunities to benefit students in our rural community.  Together we can generate additional resources for innovative programs to enhance and reinforce our students' experiences.
